Saint Paul is one of my favorite Saints, he’s very human, very real, very passionate; such a 'cool guy'. Through the Acts of the Apostles and through his own letters Paul reveals himself in such a way that we could get a very good 'picture' of him, better than any other figure of the New Testament. His life and adventures are just amazing, better than any movie or fiction book, that’s for sure!

I’m kidding about the truck. I’m typing from my laptop at a real desk. But I’m in my truck a lot, and it has been tied to many Youth Ministry events. My truck delivered a shed to Habitat for Humanity this past Wednesday.  The shed was built by a cohort of teens beginning with a Sunday teen service night and then finished by the Vernon Hills High School Honor Society of 2008, led by Erin O’Donnell.  The truck took my tools and the luggage of sixteen teens on a ‘Mission from God’ to St Louis, MO.

Operation Reach Out

As the social service arm of our parish, the Human Concerns Commission discussed ways to reach out and embrace our young men and women in the military. We came up with a few ideas and now ask the help of the larger parish family to make these ideas happen. Our plan is to send personalized Thanksgiving care packages.

Small Christian Communities

Plans are being made to form new groups in the Fall of 2008.  Facilitators are needed for these groups.  If you are interested in participating in a group or facilitating a group, please contact Maureen Evers.  Training for facilitators will be provided.
