The SMV Employment Ministry - the Wellspring Employment Resource Community(WERC) - aspires to provide a safe and effective faith-based forum for sharing work search tools and techniques which can enable our un/underemployed sisters and brothers in their search for meaningful and rewarding work, and to provide a support network for those who are un/underemployed and their families.

WERC is currently holding evening meetings on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month; some presentations will also be available duing daytime hours.

DAILY MASS DURING LENT

We encourage the practice of Daily Mass during Lent.  Even if you cannot attend every day, perhaps you can join us once or twice a week.  The Mass schedule is as follows:

• 7:00 AM—Monday, Wednesday & Friday
• 9:00 AM—Tuesday & Thursday
• 8:30 AM—Saturday Morning

Reconciliaton (Confession)

Saturdays 4:15 - 4:45 P.M. or by appointment (excep for Holy Saturday) 

Casa Jesus

For the fourth week of Lent the Human Concerns Commission has chosen CASA JESUS, the Archdiocese of Chicago’s house of formation for Hispanic men considering the priesthood. This is the first step of the vocational program to generate priests to serve the growing Hispanic population in the Archdiocese. Currently there are only 33 native Spanish speaking priests to serve over 900,000 Hispanic Catholics. At Casa Jesus, the men live in community and spend a year in discernment and formation before entering the major seminary.

The Spring Grief Support program for adults, “The Healing Journey” began March 2. 2010. This program is open to adult men and women, parishioners or non-parishioners who have suffered the loss of a friend or relative through death.  The groups meets from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the lower level of the rectory on the following dates:

March 2, March 16, March 30, April 13, April 27, May 11
