GRIEF SUPPORT FOR ADULTS BEGINS
A Place and a Time to Heal
The winter/spring grief support program for adults, “Healing Journey” will begin on September 16. This program is open to adult men and women, parishioners or non-parishioners who have suffered the loss of a friend or relative through death.
The group meets at 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of the rectory on the following dates:

This night’s activities is being planned by this year’s new Peer Ministry Team. This group of male and female high school teens, along with a group of adults plans, prepares and implements many of our best YM events! First Eucharist Pot Luck. This is for all families with children in grade 2 who are preparing for First Eucharist this year. You should have received a letter from the PREP Office regarding this. Be sure to RSVP to the PREP Office. The evening will include our Pot Luck meal, activities for the students with some of their catechists, a meeting for the parents with Father Joe and Joyce Rout, DRE, and babysitting for your younger children. Join High School Teens from Vicariate 1 (that’s all of Lake County plus some) here at St. Mary of Vernon for an afternoon that will allow you to re-examine how you pray, reconnect with others, and get your life in Syncwith Christ. The event includes:

What changes are you resisting in your life, or do you face change with Gratitude? Are you continually paddling upstream, or do you go with the flow? Please join us in the Rev. John P. Finnegan Parish Center on Monday, September 29th for tea, coffee and desert, and a discussion about how we can accept God's gift of change in our daily lives!
