PREP is the Parish Religious Education Program at St. Mary of Vernon. It currently has 700 students enrolled in our K – 8th grade and Spirit (children with special needs) classes.  

NOTE:  REGISTRATION FOR THE 2008-2009 PREP year began in January, and is ongoing!  See the registration page for full information, and come in to register as soon as possible.  Classes start September 7, 8 and 9, so please come in to register NOW!

PREP is committed to the faith, worship, and service of our students throughout the year, whether classes are in session or not. We strive to pass on our doctrine and Catholic traditions, build community, and prepare the students for the lives and ministry that their baptism declares. We hope to motivate all students and their families to a life of faithfulness and action.

We ask all St. Mary of Vernon parishioners to keep our students in their prayers as these children continue to deepen their faith and seek God in their lives on their life long journey to Christ!

Grade 7 & 8 Confirmation

NOTE!!!  Those students entering grades 7 & 8 this fall should have attended the mandatory Confirmation meeting on Monday, May 19th.  If you missed this meeting, please call the PREP Office to make an appointment with Joyce Rout.  The information from the meeting will be discussed and your packet will be given to you.  Students who finished grade 7 in June should have already turned in all of their Saint Research and Mass Reflection forms, and enrollment and SMV involvement sheets, and you should have already started on your grade 8 packet.  Turn all forms into the PREP Office, which is open during the summer.  If no one is in the PREP Office, drop off your forms in the PREP mailbox, right outside the Rev. John P. Finnegan Parish Center door.  If all the forms have not been turned in, we regrettably may not be able to move those students into eighth grade.  Some forms are available in the narthex of the church, or are available to download below.  If you would like a link to a site to help you with Saint research, click here.  Call Joyce Rout in the PREP office if you have any concerns.
