It’s time to forget about winter.  Imagine a warm summer day and an evening campfire.  It can be yours if you plan now.  Our annual SMV Family campout is planned for July 24-26, 2009 at The Stronghold Conference Center along the Rock River in Oregon, Ill. (where Rt. 64 crosses the Rock River). 

This weekend-long event has taken place for more than 20 years, is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and is always a fun time for all.  Stronghold offers us a picnic pavilion, large open play fields, alot of woods, the Rock River, fishing, hiking and picnics. 

The nearby towns of Oregon and Byron are quaint small towns with some antique shops and shopping.  The drive from the parish is about 2½ hours depending on traffic.
