Boy Scout Troop 44 Minimize

On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

Boy Scout Troop 44 meets at St. Mary of Vernon on Monday evenings at 7:00 pm. Troop activities include scout advancement instruction, outings, and a monthly sports night.

  • We earn the Catholic Scouting Badge Ad Altare Dei (Boy Scouts)
  • We help to clean up the grounds at SMV twice a year.
  • We honor our nation’s servicemen and women by placing flags at Willow Lawn Cemetery on Memorial Day Weekend.
  • We sponsor the annual SMV Fall Fest.
  • We assist at SMV Men’s Club Fish Fries and the SMV Picnics.
  • We collect food for SMV Sharing Hands through Scouting for Food annually. We build our own Klondike Derby sled, patrol kitchens, trek cart, and observation tower.
  • We choose to learn about our country through Citizenship work, Family Life, Personal Fitness, Biking, Hiking, Climbing, Emergency Preparedness, Rocketry, and Astronomy.
  • We challenge ourselves to climb, hike, canoe, and camp in the wilderness.
  • We play, explore, work and grow up together.

Cub Pack 44 Minimize

I promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my country,
To help other people, and
To obey the Law of the Pack.

We are a small family oriented pack. To fit scouting into your busy schedule, Cub Scout Pack 44 meets twice a month from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, the 1st and third Wednesday of the month in the John P. Finnegan Parish Center, Room 110. We combine our pack meetings with our den meetings.

Typical Pack 44 events have included the Rain Water Regatta, Cub Mobile, Pinewood Derby, a Fall Fest Carnival, Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser, Police/Fire Station Tours, Scout-o-Rama Pack 44/Troop 44 Campout, help with the parish and Lakeview Parkway clean-ups, Fall and Spring, helping with Scouting for Food drives to help stock the parish's Sharing Hands Food Pantry, etc.

Our fundraisers pay for all of the scouts' expenses.

Jeremiah T Lill's Eagle Project Minimize

Hello,

I am building a college level volleyball court and rebuilding the basketball court for the benefit of the entire Saint Mary of Vernon community for my Eagle Project. It will be constructed as a 30’ X 60’ outdoor sand volleyball court with a 10’ safety zone around the actual playing area with a total area of 50’ X 80’

I am asking you to help donate the following:

  • Sand 100 cubic yards
  • Gravel 50 cubic yards for drainage
  • Landscape fabric
  • Drain tile
  • Professional volleyball equipment
  • Basketball pole and backboard
  • Money for the project
  • Volunteers to construct the volleyball court and reconstruct the basketball court

I am looking to start this project as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance for your help and consideration in donating the materials, labor, and money needed to complete this project.

Sincerely,
Jeremiah T. Lill
